Esiste una generale convergenza intorno all’idea per la quale in educazione “orientamento” è il punto di incontro tra due livelli di conoscenza: conoscenza di sé e conoscenza del mondo. Questa circostanza coincide con l’esigenza di proiettare l’orientamento oltre l’evento scolare, entro i soli confini della vita.
Obiettivo principale dell’orientamento è quindi quello di aiutare i giovani a costruire la propria identità personale e sociale, coinvolgendo tutte le variabili che contribuiscono allo sviluppo della personalità.
Sul piano operativo va sostenuta con forza la necessità di delineare una politica di orientamento che privilegi il criterio multidimensionale del processo, alla cui realizzazione concorrono una pluralità di forze istituzionali e sociali fra le quali ha un ruolo prioritario la scuola, cui spetta l’impegnativo compito di integrare le attività curricolari e il processo di educazione alla scelta.
L’ITC Paolo Savi ha scelto questa linea, cercando ogni volta, modi e tempi per aiutare i ragazzi a costruire un proprio progetto di vita.
La scuola si presenta:
L’istituto Paolo Savi affonda le sue radici nell’Italia post-unitaria. Con il passaggio del Lazio al Regno d’Italia, fu istituita a Viterbo nel 1870 una regia scuola tecnica in accordo con le esigenze strutturali e culturali dell’epoca ed intitolata al naturalista Paolo Savi.
La sua offerta formativa pur rappresentando una scuola di grandi tradizioni educative e culturali, è attenta alla preparazione di profili professionali adeguati alle più avanzate richieste del mondo del lavoro attraverso gli indirizzi: amministrazione, finanza, marketing, turismo e scuola carceraria.
Le attività di alternanza scuola-lavoro sono prassi consolidate e coinvolgono in media duecento studenti per ciascun anno scolastico. Particolarmente attento all’interazione con il territorio ha avviato un dialogo vivido e proficuo con imprenditori ed amministratori pubblici.
Il Paolo Savi, forte della sua storia, ma anche della sua disponibilità a leggere il nuovo, opera per dare risposte qualificate alle nuove esigenze del contesto sociale, economico e culturale in cui opera.
