Valeria Fedeli è il nuovo ministro dell’Istruzione, dell’Università e della Ricerca, prende il posto di Stefania Giannini. Valeria Fedeli, 67 anni, senatrice del Partito Democratico, è attualmente vicepresidente del Senato. Sindacalista, entrò alla CGIL alla fine degli anni ’70. Sul suo sito scrive “La definizione che sento più mia l’ha data una volta un giornale: una sindacalista pragmatica. Sono femminista, riformista, di sinistra. Sono sposata”.
Nata a Treviglio (Bg) il 29 luglio 1949 cresciuta in provincia, in un territorio operoso e attivo. Finite le scuole, si è trasferita a Milano dove ha conseguito il diploma di laurea in Scienze Sociali, presso UNSAS.
Valeria Fedeli inizia l’attività sindacale nel Consiglio dei delegati del Comune di Milano, in rappresentanza delle insegnanti di scuola materna. Alla fine degli anni ’70 il suo primo incarico in Cgil, nella categoria che organizzava i dipendenti degli enti locali e della sanità, sempre a Milano. Poi dal 1982 si trasferisce a Roma per assumere incarichi nelle segreterie prima del pubblico impiego e poi del tessile.
“Pubblico impiego e tessile sono due grandi scuole, in cui ho imparato a praticare la difesa concreta dei lavoratori costruendo innovazione, governo dei processi di cambiamento. Nella pubblica amministrazione legando quei cambiamenti alla conquista, storica per la categoria, dell’unificazione delle regole contrattuali del settore pubblico con quelle dei settori privati.”- afferma presentandosi sul suo sito.
Dal 2000 in poi è stata segretaria generale della Filtea, la categoria tessile della Cgil e poi successivamente Presidente del sindacato tessile europeo. Ha contribuito con Bersani, l’allora Ministro dello Sviluppo economico, alla definizione delle Linee guida di politica industriale per la competitività e l’internazionalizzazione del Sistema produttivo della moda italiana.
