L’Attività di orientamento è divenuta sempre più importante, a causa della variegata offerta formativa universitaria, delle riforme succedutesi negli anni, della difficoltà di scelta da parte dei ragazzi, dovuta alla mancanza d’informazione, alla presenza di corsi di laurea a numero chiuso, all’attuale crisi economica.
Le attività rivolte agli studenti delle classi quarte e quinte sono le seguenti: costante informazione delle attività proposte dai vari atenei; incontro per illustrare il sistema universitario italiano; sportello di consulenza filosofica e al progetto di vita; adesione a progetti particolari proposti dai vari atenei ( progetto “Tandem “ (univr); “pensa trasversale” (unitn); summers schools (Scuola Normale, Luiss, Politecnico di Milano), progetto “dal talento al lavoro” (Luiss); organizzazione di simulazione di test di ammissione.
La scuola propone inoltre agli studenti che hanno compiuto i 16 anni, la possibilità di partecipare a degli stage estivi presso enti d’interesse.

L’identità culturale del Liceo Scientifico “Galilei”, tanto nel suo impianto curricolare, quanto nelle sue componenti integrative poggia sull’equilibrio fra l’asse scientifico e quello umanistico, pur nella diversa articolazione che esso conosce nei tre percorsi offerti (liceo ordinamentale, ordinamentale con doppia lingua e liceo delle scienze applicate).
La valorizzazione degli apporti dei due ambiti e la loro fattiva interazione e interdipendenza riflettono una prospettiva di unitarietà del sapere che mira alla formazione integrale dello studente.
Alle attività curriculari, il Liceo offre un’ampia gamma di proposte, finalizzate all’approfondimento e al recupero, all’integrazione del curricolo, alla soddisfazione di interessi specifici degli studenti.
