L’orientamento è l’idea formativa ispiratrice del POF dell’I.I.S. Via Salvini. Infatti le cause principali dell’insuccesso formativo vanno ricercate nella scarsa consapevolezza che gli studenti hanno delle proprie potenzialità e attitudini, dell’offerta formativa complessiva del sistema d’istruzione, delle prospettive di sviluppo economiche e delle nuove professionalità richieste dal mercato del lavoro.
Pertanto la progettazione Educativa del nostro Istituto si propone di innalzare il tasso di successo scolastico mediante un’efficace azione di orientamento, in entrata (continuità con la scuola media inferiore, accoglienza, sostegno e recupero dello svantaggio, eventuale riorientamento), in itinere (integrazione dell’offerta didattica e del curricolo, alternanza scuola-lavoro, scambi culturali e viaggi studio all’estero, internazionalizzazione del curricolo e nuove tecnologie) in uscita (potenziamento dell’informazione e supporto alla scelta universitaria, corsi di preparazione ai test di ingresso universitari).
Considerato che dall’anno scolastico 2012/2013 la scuola è sede autorizzata dalla Università di Cambridge, l’Istituto offre ai suoi studenti una prospettiva internazionale, rendendoli partecipi di una più vasta comunità. Il percorso internazionale integrato nel curriculum italiano fornisce inoltre la possibilità di proseguire gli studi all’estero e apre la mente alla conoscenza del mondo.
La scuola si presenta:
L’istituto Via Salvini 24 rappresenta una realtà scolastica di ampio respiro aperto ai cambiamenti culturali ed educativi del terzo millennio.
L’offerta formativa comprende: il liceo Scientifico Azzarita con l’opzione Scienze Applicate, il liceo classico Mameli e l’Istituto tecnico Antonio Genovesi. La compresenza di tre tipologie di studi diversi consente l’incontro ed il confronto tra pari in un’ottica di condivisione e trasferimento di conoscenze.
La commistione tra saperi diversi costituisce uno degli elementi fondanti dell’educazione in senso lato. Cultura tecnica, scientifica e classica si armonizzano felicemente in una dimensione che guarda oltreconfine.
Dall’anno scolastico 2012/2013 è stato riconosciuto all’istituto, lo status di Cambridge International Examinations. La scuola è sede autorizzata dalla Università di Cambridge per la preparazione e il conseguimento delle certificazioni internazionali IGCSE e AS/Alevel che consentono l’ammissione a corsi di studio a numero chiuso in oltre 125 Stati nel mondo.
Attivi sono gli scambi culturali con scuole estere, in particolare con l’Australia, USA e Danimarca. Particolarmente attento ad ogni piega della cultura e della formazione, l’istituto prevede nell’ambito dei percorsi liceali (liceo scientifico e classico) il progetto musica ed il progetto sport al fine di proseguire l’attività musicale o sportiva senza penalizzare l’apprendimento scolastico.
Programmi di educazione alla salute e lo sportello di ascolto per studenti e genitori completano il quadro di una scuola attenta al territorio ed ai fabbisogni dei suoi residenti.
