“ Orientare significa porre l’individuo in grado di prendere coscienza di sé e di progredire, con i suoi studi e la sua professione, in relazione alle mutevoli esigenze della vita, con il duplice scopo di contribuire al progresso della società e di raggiungere il pieno sviluppo della persona umana”. Questa è la definizione data all’orientamento in occasione del Congresso dell’UNESCO tenutosi a Bratislava nel 1970 e che meglio di tutte le altre si addice pienamente all’offerta formativa che il nostro Liceo persegue. La didattica e tutte le altre attività che infatti si svolgono all’interno del Siotto sono finalizzate allo sviluppo e all’acquisizione di competenze che rafforzano nelle studentesse e negli studenti capacità e abilità necessarie per conseguire ciò che viene definito da G. Giugni “maturità orientativa” ossia essere in grado di poter fare delle scelte congruenti al proprio progetto di vita.

Il Liceo Classico Statale “G. Siotto Pintor” ha una tradizione educativa plurisecolare che mantiene la sua validità nella società contemporanea continuando a distinguersi per la sua forte valenza formativa. Il Liceo è in grado di offrire una formazione culturale di base forte, imperniata soprattutto sulla qualità oltre che sull’ampio ventaglio di saperi e garantisce l’accesso a tutti gli indirizzi universitari sia umanistici che scientifici. Il processo formativo delle discipline umanistiche risulta armonizzato con lo studio delle discipline scientifiche, artistiche e della disciplina della lingua e cultura inglese, che è presente in tutte le classi. È in progetto, l’introduzione di una seconda lingua comunitaria e lo sviluppo di sessioni didattiche utilizzando la metodologia CLIL. Nell’azione didattica quotidiana, l’uso delle tecnologie informatiche compare come valido supporto trasversale così come la presenza in tutte le aule delle lavagne interattive multimediali (LIM), già operative. Inoltre l’Istituto è una delle 20 Istituzioni scolastiche in Italia che ha realizzato un prototipo di editoria digitale scolastica che dovrà essere utilizzato.
